Relaxation Sessions
Relaxing and Finding Comfort
Take comfort and learn new ways to feel calm as you experience relaxation using soft music and guided imagery in our safe and caring atmosphere. All emotions are accepted as you share experiences with others in similar situations.
Research supports relaxation. How we feel physically can be influenced by the mind. When we are in a relaxed state, our heart rate, metabolism, oxygen consumption, and respiration slow down. Blood pressure and muscle tension are lowered too.
Other Benefits of Relaxation
- Stimulates the release of endorphins
- Stimulates the immune system
- Increases feelings of calm and comfort
“Our daughter passed away while in the palliative care unit at the Peace Arch Hospital. I thank you ladies for being there to attend her with healing touch and reiki. I know she appreciated it. I also did some healing for her, I believe in this type of caring for it does help people to pass over with ease.” ~ Marilyn
Our relaxation leaders are specially trained in relaxation techniques and the effects of emotional stress due to advanced illness and grief. Relaxation sessions are facilitated by these trained volunteers.
